From the official screenshots and trailers we can identify several distinct regions: the Leonida Keys (a chain of islands inspired by the Florida Keys), Grassrivers (a murky Everglades-style swampland), Port Gellhorn (an industrial docklands area), and mountainous inland terrain. The map is shaping up to be the largest in GTA history — possibly larger than any open world Rockstar has made.
The game is set in the present day, which means modern smartphones, social media culture, influencers, and surveillance cameras are all part of the world.
